Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a Manufacturing partner located near the Plymouth area needing a Sr Accountant for their team!

Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
- Oversee maintenance of the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations to management.
- Provide day-to-day leadership to accounting staff; review work, train team members, and support skill development.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for complex accounting questions and operational issues.
- Help manage workflows, delegate tasks, and ensure consistent adherence to accounting policies.
- Oversee AP, AR, fixed assets, and payroll accounting processes as needed.
- Review vendor and customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure proper documentation, internal controls, and audit readiness.
Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting.
- Prior leadership, team-lead, or senior-level review experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices.
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
