Job Description

Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a Manufacturing partner located near the Plymouth area needing a Sr Accountant for their team!

  • Pay: $40-$50/hr
  • Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
  • Contract 4 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Oversee maintenance of the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations to management.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to accounting staff; review work, train team members, and support skill development.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for complex accounting questions and operational issues.
  • Help manage workflows, delegate tasks, and ensure consistent adherence to accounting policies.
  • Oversee AP, AR, fixed assets, and payroll accounting processes as needed.
  • Review vendor and customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper documentation, internal controls, and audit readiness.

Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Prior leadership, team-lead, or senior-level review experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
